I am an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in the School of Economics at the University of Sheffield and a Research Affiliate at CESifo.

My research lies at the intersection of urban and regional economics, the economics of innovation, and international economics.

​

I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham. Previously, I was a Fellow in Economic Geography at the London School of Economics, and a BA Innovation Fellow in the Survey and Economic Indicators Division at the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS).

I serve on the Council of Experts of the Innovation and Research Caucus, and have been an Associate Editor of Economic Modelling since 2025.

At the University of Sheffield, I lead the Sheffield Urban, International Trade, and Environmental Economics (SUITE) Research Group, and organise the annual Bessemer Symposium in the Economics of Innovation.​
